Open in App
Solution

Excretion:

  1. The process of removal of waste materials from the body is called excretion.
  2. Kidney is the major excretory organ in human beings.
  3. It excretes nitrogenous waste materials like urea, and uric acid, along with salt and water.
  4. The impure blood enters the glomerulus to filter out the nitrogenous substances.
  5. It then passes through the renal tubules so that the useful substances can get reabsorbed.
  6. Finally the impurities along with water produce the urine.
  7. Apart from this, the solid undigested food is excreted by the large intestine.
  8. Excess water is lost as sweat through the skin while carbon dioxide and water vapour are excreted by the lungs.
