Disease of the heart:
Heart disease affects the circulatory system and the heart in a very adverse manner.
Certain diseases of the heart result in blockage of blood vessels, and blood clots in the vessels and heart.
All these diseases affect the normal functioning of the heart as well as the circulatory system.
Diseases of the circulatory system include:
Coronary artery disease: It is a condition in which plaque builds up in the wall of the arteries that supply blood to the heart.
Hypertension: Also known as high blood pressure, is a condition in which arterial walls experience a very high force of the blood.
Cardiac arrest: Sudden stoppage of heartbeat due to electrical inactivity in the heart.
Heart failure: It is a condition in which the heart stops pumping blood.
Atherosclerosis: Deposition of fats, cholesterol, or some other substances in the arterial walls, which leads to blockage in the arterial blood vessels.
Arrhythmia: Irregular beating of the heart.
Myocardial infarction: Also called heart attack in which heart muscles stop receiving blood.
