Question

How does increase in temperature lead to decrease in the solubility of the gas in the liquid?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

Increasing in temperature causes an increase in kinetic energy of the gas molecules.
The higher kinetic energy causes more motion in gas molecules due to which intermolecular bonds break and gas molecules escape from solution.
That's why, solubility of gas in liquid decrease on increasing temperature.
