Question

How does increase or decrease in temperature affect photosynthesis?

Open in App
Solution

Solution:-

  1. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create oxygen and energy in the form of sugar.
  2. The higher the temperature, the greater the rate of photosynthesis.
  3. This is because photosynthesis is a chemical reaction and most of the chemical reactions are accelerated with temperature.
  4. But, in the case of photosynthesis, a temperature above 40°C decreases the rate of photosynthesis.
