Working of insecticides:

  1. They function as effective poisoning agents and kill the insects by entering their bodies.
  2. Insecticides enter the body of insects via various means that include, respiratory pathways, dermal entry, oral entry, etc.
  3. Insecticides are of various types:

(a) Contact insecticides: It kills the insects when it comes in direct contact.

(b) Systemic insecticides: Such insecticides enter the cell of the plants and kill the insects when they eat the plant part.
