Question

How does ionization affect pH?

Open in App
Solution

When pH affects ionization

  • In a solution, the acids tend to produce H+ions when it is dissociated. Due to this the concentration of H+ increases in the solution.
  • The ionization of acid is directly proportional to the acidic strength.
  • This means that stronger acids have lower pH value with greater ionization.

Thus, when the pH value is lower greater will be the ionization.
