Lysosomes are single membrane bound small vacuole shaped organelles. These are formed from Golgi bodies. Lysosome stores a lot of digestive and hydrolysing enzymes.

Lysosomal enzymes help macrophagic cells to digest cell debris that they remove. The enzymes could also be released inside the cell to achieve cell lysis.
