It is a common phenomenon to manufacture and export those goods/assets that can be manufactured at a relatively lesser cost in the domestic country. So, when the manufactured goods are exported to international markets, it brings in the much required foreign exchange (since the payment is made in the foreign currency). Thereby, increasing the foreign exchange reserves of the exporting country.
