Question

How does Newton's second law of motion differ from first law o motion?

Open in App
Solution

Newton's first law of motion states that a body at rest will remain at rest and a body in motion will continue moving with a constant velocity unless a net external force acts on it.

On the other hand, the second law of motion gives a measure of this net external force, which is equal to the rate of change in momentum of the body.
