The ozone layer absorbs the harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation of the sun and protects us from being exposed to it. Depletion of the ozone layer causes the UV rays to reach the earth’s surface. This causes:
(a) cataract, inflammation of the cornea (snow-blindness) and skin cancer
(b) the deterioration of the immune system
