Parthenogenesis is the asexual reproduction where an individual is produced from an unfertilized ovum. Parthenogenesis occurs by two ways- apomixis and automixis.
Apomixis- In apomixis, eggs are produced by mitosis. Eggs are replicated by mitosis to form two diploid cells and these cells are complimented by chromosomes needed to form the embryo.
