Solution
India is prone to large number of natural
disasters. Heavy rainfall causes overflow of a large amount of water from
rivers, streams, etc., beyond its normal limits causing floods.
Water running over land surface carries away
loose material of soil and transports it downstream, this process is
known as soil erosion. Every year billion tonnes of soil is eroded into oceans,
seas and deep lakes.
Thus, rainfall which is more than optimum range
result in floods and soil erosion.
