The bad omens are cited by the watchmen too, and when the priests sacrifice an animal to appease the Gods, they find that there is cavity in the place where the heart should be. Caesar pays no heed to these omens and goes with Brutus to meet the senate members and is murdered by them, thus proving the bad omens true.
