Question

How does temperature affect the kinetic energy of particles?

Open in App
Solution

The affect of temperature on kinetic energy of particles:

  • The kinetic energy arises when the particles shows movement. The formula for kinetic energy is Kineticenergy=1/2mv2,where v refers to velocity of the particle.
  • As the temperature increases the movement of the particle become high. This lead to increase in kinetic energy
  • With the increases in temperature the motion of particle is higher in gas molecules than in solid molecules.

Thus, On increasing the temperature the kinetic energy of the particle will also increases.
