Question

How does the cell obtain nutrition from its environment through diffusion?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student

Nutrients move through the pores into the cells.
The end products of fat digestion, including glycerols, monoglycerides, and fatty acids, are absorbed through diffusion directly across the cell membranes.

Larger particles are coated in bile salts which allow them to pass through the cell membrane.

Vitamin's like C and the B pass through protein channels using passive diffusion.

Fructose moves through facilitated diffusion, using a carrier protein to get across the cell membrane. Whereas glucose moves through active transport.

Thus is how cells obtain nutrition.
