Question

How does the defect of myopia arise in a human eye?

Open in App
Solution

In myopia, the image of a distant object is formed in front of the retina and not at the retina itself. Consequently, they can not focus on distant objects clearly.

This may arise due to either

(i) excessive curvature of the cornea.

(ii) elongation of the eyeball.
