Resistance: Resistance of a circuit is directly proportional to the length of the conductor and inversely proportional to the area of the cross-section.

That is, RLA

Introducing a constant of proportionality,

R=ρLA(where ρis the resistivity of the material.)

  1. The resistance of a conductor increases as the length of the conductor increases and vice versa.
  2. The resistance of a conductor decreases as the cross-section area of the conductor increases and vice versa.
  3. The resistance of a conductor increases as the temperature of the conductor increases and vice versa.
