Open in App
Solution

Dermis:

  1. Beneath the epidermis is the dermis layer. This layer constitutes of fat, fibres and collagen which makes the skin flexible and strong.
  2. When skin is exposed to sunlight, it absorbs UV Radiation.
  3. This UV Radiation penetrates into the epidermis and converts previtamin D into Vitamin D.
  4. Therefore, Dermis synthesizes Vitamin D to absorb calcium on exposure to sunlight.
