Open in App
Solution

  1. The speed of sound is different in different media.
  2. The speed of the sound in any medium is given by the relation:
Eρ where E = Modulus of elasticity and ρ= density of medium.
  3. Now every medium has a different modulus of elasticity and different density therefore speed of sound will vary in different mediums.
  4. Speed of sound is highest in solid followed by liquid and followed by gas.
