How does the virus-infected cells provide innate immunity to healthy cells?

Innate immunity is the immunity which helps is present in organism by birth. The virus infected cells release interferons which interact with specific cellular receptors, and promote production of second messengers ultimately leading to expression of antiviral and immune modulatory genes which prevents synthesis of viral proteins and prevents the spread of virus. It also activates immune cells.
