Question

How does thermal radiation change with temperature?

Open in App
Solution

Change in temperature with thermal radiation:

  • According to Stefan Boltzmann law ,when the temperature is above absolute zero, black body emits a electromagnetic radiation per unit time from an area which is termed as thermal radiation.
  • This law is represented as E=σT4 , every body above absolute zero (0K) emit radiation which is proportional to the fourth power of absolute temperature.

Thus, The temperature is proportional to the fourth power of absolute temperature when radiation is emitted.
