How does transpiration help in upward movement of substances?

Dear student

Transpiration is the process through which water is evaporated from the plants. This loss of water decreases the pressure in plant which pulls up the water in xylem and this in turn pulls the water from the ground tissues of the roots, causing the water to be be pulled in from the soil.
