Question

How far would a car travel in 4 seconds at a speed of 45 km/h?

Open in App
Solution

Given:

Speed of the car = 45 km/h
= 45×10001 ×3600

= 12.5 m/s (∵ 1 km = 1000 m and 1 h = 3600 s)

Time taken by the car = 4 s
Using the formula, we get:
Speed = Distance/Time
Or,
Distance = Speed × Time
= 12.5 × 4
= 50 m

Thus, the car would travel a distance of 50 metres in 4 seconds.
