RNAi is called RNA interference, a specific catalytic RNA sequence which is used in genetic engineering to control gene expression. It is actually called RNA Silencing.The two types of RNAs used in this are siRNA- Silencing RNA, miRNA- microRNA. Crops engineered through RNAi have proven to be successful in protection against pest and parasites, including nematodes.Expression of dsRNA, corresponding to the nematode target gene through host plant, mediates the production of siRNAs.
