Solvent-

  • It is a liquid in which other substances dissolve.
  • It is always present in more quantity.

Solute-

  • It is a substance that dissolves in the solvent.
  • It is always present in less quantity.

Aqueous solution-

  • It is a type of solution in which water will remain as solvent.

Example-

  • Sugar dissolves in water to form a solution.
  • Sugar is in less quantity which we called the solute.
  • Water is in large quantity which we called the solvent.
  • water is used as a solvent so, this is an aqueous solution.
