How is the transformer made?

Solution

Construction of Transformer:

  1. A laminated steel core and two inductive windings make up a transformer. Both the steel core and the coils are isolated from one another.
  2. A transformer may additionally have an oil conservator to supply oil in the transformer tank for cooling reasons, adequate bushings to take out the terminals, and a container for the winding and core assembly (referred to as a tank).
  3. The fundamental design of a transformer is shown in the figure:.

Hence, the transformers have a primary coil, a secondary coil, and one core. High permeability materials like silicon steel are used to create the core, and copper is used to creating the coil windings.
