Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

To prevent misuse of alcohol, it is often made unfit for drinking.
It is done by adding methanol to the alcohol. Methanol is dangerous for consumption and is lethal. Blue coloured dye are also mixed to it so that it can be identified that it has been made unfit for drinking. Such alcohol is called denatured alcohol.
