Open in App
Solution

An individual organism consists of 46 chromosomes. but the number of chromosome is restored in the zygote because the zygote receive half the chromosomes that is 23 chromosomes from each of the parents (both mother and father) and thus the number of chromosome remains constant as 46 in all the organisms and does not increase from generation to generation.
