Ebola is known to be introduced into the human population through close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected animals such as fruit bats in the tropical rainforest. The other hosts includes chimpanzees, gorillas, monkeys, forest antelope and porcupines that are either ill or found dead in the forest and transmit the deadly disease.
