Formation of ectoderm:

  1. Ectoderm refers to the outermost part of the three primary germ layers of an embryo which is the source of various tissues and structures including the nervous system, epidermis, etc.
  2. During gastrulation, the mesoderm forms from the epiblast cells.
  3. After that, the cells cease to enter into the primitive streak.
  4. Cells that are remaining in entering form the ectoderm layer.
