Removal of anther or stamens is known as emasculation. It is the method employed to prevent the self-pollination of bisexual plants.
Process of emasculation:
Bagging: In this method, pollination at the stigma is prevented by covering it with a paper bag. This is done so that pollination occurs only by the desired pollen grains.
Pollination: In this method, the desired pollen is taken and dusted on the stigma of the bagged flower.
Tagging: In this method, the flower is rebagged again and tagged with details such as the dates on which the above-mentioned processes were done, details about the plant, and other relevant information.
