Epidermis is the outer covering of the plants. These tissues plays various roles such as; protects the loss of water from the leaf surface, regulates the exchange of gases through the stomata. It also protect the plants from the damage cause by the external environment. The outer covering of a leaf is modified to many structures such as leaf tendrils, leaf storage, leaf spines, leaf hooks, scale leaves etc. While,the root epidermal modification involves the rapid growth of meristem, a region of rapid mitosis ​which produces the new cells for root growth. root cap.
