Open in App
Solution

Osmoregulation:

  1. Osmoregulation is the process of maintaining osmotic pressure and ion balance in the body.
  2. Kidneys help to maintain osmoregulation of the body.
  3. Kidneys regulate blood pressure and absorption of ions and essential molecules from the blood.
  4. Hormones like aldosterone (secreted by the adrenal cortex located on top of kidneys), vasopressin also known as ADH or antidiuretic hormone (secreted by the pituitary gland), and renin (secreted by kidneys) help in osmoregulation and maintenance of blood pressure.
