Solution

Dear student, Formation of ozone. UV radiations of the sunlight act on O2 to generate oxygen atom, which combines with O2 to form ozone. O2-----> O+O. O+ O2 ------> O3 Effects of ozone depletion: 1.Ageing of skin, cataract, skin cancer 2.Killing of phytoplanktons, decrease in fish productivity 3.Mutation in plant cells 4.Decrease in moisture content in plants and excess loss of water through stomata of leaves. Depletion of ozone occurs because of the release of chloro fluoro carbons in the atmosphere. These chloro fluoro carbons are used in refrigerators, air conditioners and hence there use has to be restricted to save the ozone layer. Thanks and regards
