Open in App
Solution

Silver bromide (AgBr), a soft, pale-yellow, water-insoluble salt is well known (along with other silver halides) for its unusual sensitivity to light. AgBr darkens on exposure to light by disintegrating into elements Bromine and metallic silver. This reaction is used in photography.
