Question

How is population growth related to water scarcity?

Open in App
Solution

Water scarcity is insufficient freshwater resources to meet the human and environmental demands of a given area. Every inch of land available in cities is used for building housing complexes. All these households need water. This increases the demand for potable water. The rise in population leads to higher demand for water for domestic, industrial, agricultural and municipal needs and also the evacuation of waste materials.
