Question

How is steam inhalation a good remedy to relieve common cold?
In fact, when a person drowns in water, water fills in the person's lungs which does not allow the person to breathe.
Considering the above, when a person inhales steam, shouldn't the steam condense as water in the trachea or the lungs, causing trouble in breathing? And we know that doesn't happen. Why?

Solution

Vapor is a gas, our body’s temperature is 37˚C, so higher than the ambient temperature, so no chance of it condensing into water in the lungs.
