How is sublimation different from solidification ?
Sublimation refer to the direct conversion of a solid into a gas (or vice versa) whereas solidification refers to the conversion of a liquid into a solid at a particular temperature. In sublimation, there is no intermediate liquid state.
Examples for sublimation are naphthalene balls, dry ice etc. Examples for solidification are freezing of water to form ice in an ice cube tray, solidification of melted candle wax etc.
