We know ordinary air is mainly composed of three gases such as nitrogen(78%), oxygen(21%) and carbon dioxide(0.03%). Water can dissolve gases like oxygen and nitrogen to a small extent due to which amount of these gases dissolved in water will be little as compared to present in ordinary air. Water can dissolve CO2 to a greater extent due to the formation of carbonic acid (H2CO3). So, water contains CO2 gas more than nitrogen and oxygen gases. As a result, air dissolved in water contains CO2 gas in greater amount and nitrogen, oxygen gases in lesser amount while ordinary air contains nitrogen ,oxygen gases in greater amount and CO2 in lesser amount.
