How is the blood glucose level maintained in the body of person when he/she is fasting?

During fasting, the glucose in blood becomes low.
In such situations, the alpha cells of islets of Langerhans in pancreas secrete glucagon.
The glucagon converts the glycogen stored in the liver to glucose and synthesizes glucose from amino acids.
Such actions help to maintain the blood glucose level to normal.
