Question
How is the heat energy supplied to a liquid during boiling at a fixed temperature, utilized?

Solution
When a liquid reach its boiling point and is heated further, its temperature don't rise.
This is because the temperature is consumed as
latent
heat
of
vaporization
.
This amount of heat is used to break inter - molecular forces of attraction in liquid and convert it into gaseous state.
And hence the the temperature of liquid don't rise further when it is heated at it's boiling point unless it converts into gas.
