Solution

The correct option is A Electrons released during photolysis of water
During non-cyclic photophosphorylation, the reaction centre of PS-II absorbs a specific wavelength of red light and releases energy rich electrons. These electrons are transported along an electron transport chain and they finally reach PS-I. The void created in PS-II due to loss of electrons is filled by the splitting of water which releases electrons, protons and oxygen.

FNR is ferredoxin-NADP+ oxidoreductase, an enzyme that catalyses the reaction in which there is transfer of electrons from ferredoxin (FD) to NADP+ during non-cyclic photophosphorylation. This results in the formation of NADPH. Thus electrons released from FNR are involved in formation of NADPH.

Electrons released from plastocyanin are passed on to the reaction centre of photosystem I.
