Steps in municipal waste management:

1. Collection: collection is done by dustbins located at different places of the street and is collected by municipal workers.

2. Separation and storage: Different types of wastes are separated like biodegradable or nonbiodegradable, etc. Separated waste is stored at a different place which is far away from the living.

3. Transfer and transport: First wastes are transferred from smaller to the larger vehicles which is then transported at a longer distance.

4. Disposal: Methods of waste disposal include landfill, incineration, recycling, plasma gasification and composting.
