Solution

Distance travelled per unit time is a measure of speed or the rate of motion.
therfore the speed of an object moving steadily = distance travelled/time taken

The rate of change of position of an object is just how fast its position is changing. It is a measure of both length and the direction of an object's path from its starting point straight to its ending point. Speed, the rate at which an object changes position.
