How is the rate of a chemical reaction affected by change in temperature? Give an example in support of your answer.

Calcium carbonate present in the marble chips react slowly with hydrochloric acid at room temperature and evolves carbon dioxide at a slower rate. But on heating the mixture, evolution of carbon dioxide is faster.

This shows that increase in temperature increases the rate of a chemical reaction.
