How is the rate of heart beat determined from the ECG?

Open in App
Solution

The ECG wave has 3 parts.
The P wave, the QRS complex and the ST segment.
The QRS complex is the tallest part and can be easily determined.
We need to measure the distance between two QRS complexes and divide the answer by 300.
The final answer we get is the heart beats per minute.
