How is the respiratory passage kept free of dust particles?

Hair is present in the nasal passage (nose) that help remove dust particles. Besides this the constant motion of cilia and mucous present in the walls of the respiratory tract also help trap dust particles, pollen and fine microorganisms. In this way the respiratory tract is kept free of dust particles.
