How is the sex-determination mechanism different in the birds?

In birds, ZZ - ZW sex determination works. The females are heterogametic and the males are homogametic. The sex chromosomes is labelled Z and W. ZW are female and after meiosis, Z chromosome is present in half of the eggs and W in another half, while ZZ are males and Z chromosome are present in all the sperms.
