Turgor pressure

  1. When the cell wall reaches turgidity, it is stretched because of pressure from within. As a result, the cell content is pushed towards the cell's center.
  2. Turgor pressure refers to the pressure exerted by cell content on the cell wall.
  3. The cell wall, in turn, exerts pressure on the cell-away content. This is referred to as wall pressure.
