Kidney stone:

  1. A kidney stone is an irregularly-shaped solid mass or crystal that may be as small as a grain of sand up to the size of a golf ball.
  2. Kidney stones may be present for years without knowing they are there.
  3. Until and unless stones are present in the kidney, there will be no pain. once they start moving pain will be there.
  4. The size of a kidney stone plays a determining factor in whether it can pass naturally or not.
  5. If the size of the stones is smaller than 4mm they pass on their own while stones that are of size 5mm or above may require medical intervention.
